Help Lana, age 19 & in a coma, from eviction
Donation protected
I’m Ellen Baxter, and before retiring I was a School Social Worker for Edison Public Schools in New Jersey for about 25 years. I worked very closely with Lana Savlovski over a decade ago before she sadly had a series of strokes and seizures that caused her to go into a coma at age seven.
Now, Lana is 19 years old, living at home with her mother Svetlana, father Serguei and younger sister Sophia, who has Down syndrome and sadly the family is in jeopardy of being evicted from their home. Her father worked full-time but once Covid hit couldn’t work because he couldn’t risk bringing any infections into the house because for Lana it would be life-threatening.
Lana is bed-ridden and must be moved frequently throughout the day to prevent bed sores. When Lana was younger her mother could move her by herself but as Lana has grown, her mom can no longer move her on her own so her father can only work part-time jobs so he can be there to move Lana.
Since Covid, they have accrued a lot of debt including rent and utilities. Her father has been making minimal payments when he can, but the landlord has now taken him to court to force eviction.
The family has nowhere to go and no family who can provide support.
Please help Lana and her family.
