Help Lance Anderson Recover from Eaton Fire

Donation protected
Hello my name is Lance Anderson and I have been the owner of the Altadena Junction Creative Arts Studio since 2008. Like many (if not most) of the residents and businesses in Altadena, I was deeply impacted by the Eaton Fire. The historic building on Mariposa that housed Altadena Hardware also contained my studio. All of it was completely consumed by the fire.

Over the years the Altadena Junction Creative Arts Studio hosted theater performances, art gallery exhibitions and from 2010 into the pandemic, it was the workshop and storefront for California Bohemian Leather, the handmade leather goods business I ran with Marisol Martinez.

During the past few years, the studio was primarily used as the U.S. office and podcast studio for the History of Podcasting Project Ltd, of which I’m a co-founder with my partner Dean Whitbread from the UK. It’s a huge undertaking, so before the fire I was remodeling the studio to accommodate more production and podcasting classes.

The fire took everything, the thousands of dollars of leather tools and supplies, the hundreds of belts, bags and prototypes. The fire took the computers and recording equipment. Just typing these words feels like a punch to the gut.

I am humbly asking for your help to get back on my feet. Please help me replace some of what was lost, most immediately my podcast equipment and computer so I can move forward. I’ll also be trying to sort out a new studio so I can continue my work.
