Help Landeros Family Rebuild After Tornado

Hi my name is Evelyn and on behalf of the Landero’s family I’m hoping to raise money to help relieve us of this terrible disaster.

Around 11:00PM on May 25th, Valley View and surrounding areas got hit by a tornado, killing 7 people and injuring many more. We spent all night in a search and rescue for our neighbors who tragically passed away and we couldn’t be more distraught about it. We send our deepest condolences to everyone involved.

When the tornado hit, Christopher Landeros, son of Juana and Gabriel Landeros, received the worst phone call a son could ever get. His parents, and a little bother, trapped in their truck without any way out- the tornado had blown a tree onto it and other debris got stuck under the truck. To their rescue he went, luckily everyone made it out safe but their home was far from whole.

Despite two totaled trucks, one totaled Jeep, and a wrecked home, the Landeros family spent all night helping others and making sure everyone was accounted for. The next day is when they realized how great the loss was and what they were going to have to do to recover from it.

We have never experienced anything like this before and we appreciate all of everyone’s help including friends, family, and neighbors. However, we fear it’s going to take help from strangers to make our house a home again and put this night of terror behind us.

Anything, and we mean anything, helps and we will be eternally grateful for any help we can receive. Again, we hope everyone affected by this recovers quickly and we are always eager to lend a helping hand.

Alrededor de las 11:00 p.m. del 25 de mayo, Valley View y sus alrededores fueron azotados por un tornado que mató a 7 personas e hirió a muchas más. Pasamos toda la noche buscando y rescatando a nuestros vecinos que fallecieron trágicamente y no podríamos estar más angustiados por ello. Cuando llegó el tornado, Christopher Landeros, hijo de Juana y Gabriel Landeros, recibió la peor llamada telefónica que un hijo podría recibir. Sus padres y un pequeño, quedaron atrapados en su camioneta sin ninguna salida: el tornado había arrastrado un árbol, y otros escombros quedaron atrapados debajo del vehículo. Christopher fue a rescatarlos, y afortunadamente todos lograron salir a salvo, pero al fijarse más cerca, su casa estaba lejos de estar completa.

A pesar de dos camionetas destrozadas, un Jeep destrozado y una casa destrozada, la familia Landeros pasó toda la noche ayudando a los demás y asegurándose de que todos estuvieran contabilizados. Al día siguiente es cuando se dieron cuenta de lo grande que era la pérdida y de lo que iban a tener que hacer para recuperarse de ella.

Nunca antes habíamos experimentado algo como esto y apreciamos toda la ayuda de todos, incluidos amigos, familiares y vecinos. Sin embargo, tememos que será necesaria la ayuda de extraños para hacer de nuestra casa un hogar nuevamente y dejar atrás esta noche de terror.
