Help Laney's Family Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, colleagues, and kind souls we may never have the joy to meet,
We can't thank you enough for your outpouring of love, kindness and generosity. Tears of appreciation flow when I read all the messages of support and see all of the people who have donated money to help support us.
When I was young, my mom asked me if I was old enough to pack my own suitcase for a week at my grandparents. I packed a "fur" coat and nothing else and so this pattern repeats.
I guess I knew then that one item of warmth is always needed and loving people would help with the essentials.
As I write this, I am wearing a gift from Suzanne’s neighbor Lauri—a hand knitted sweater, prettier than anything I ever owned. I am so grateful.
We have been staying at Jeff and Suzanne's home, my brother-in-law and sister. This safe haven provides warmth, literally—the neighbors are wrapping me in hugs, also known as sweaters and blankets. We toast each evening to life, friends, and the kindness of strangers.
Lani and Mark, my sister-in-law and brother, helped us secure an apartment in Santa Monica. We are so blessed to have a place to call home.
This experience of losing our physical home reminds us that home is found in the love of our community.
Thank you for being such a community of love.
With endless gratitude,
Annette, Stan, and Laney
