HELP LARRY TYLER GET BACK ON HIS FEET!

Donation protected

Much-loved, local-born business-owner, Larry Tyler, who for years has provided our community with flooring as well as carpet and upholstery cleaning, has recently suffered a major health crisis, resulting in his being unable to work for a number of months. This would be financially hard on most of us but – although he is retirement age – even before the recent crisis, Larry was not in a financial position to retire, let alone to take an enforced vacation of several months.
Those who know him well know that Larry was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2016 and, after a grueling and expensive series of treatments and a prolonged course of immunotherapy, is – at least for the moment – cancer-free. In addition to working full-time, Larry has also been responsible for managing his 92-year-old mother’s finances and care, which – as she is an Alzheimer’s patient – involves a round-the-clock staff that has to be coordinated and paid.
In early November of last year, Larry contracted a flu-like illness that lasted close to a month and then morphed into pneumonia, carrying with it a hidden bladder infection. The combined effects of illness, work and personal responsibility created a perfect storm which, in early December, landed Larry in the hospital with a diagnosis of severe depression.
All of this brought Larry to the edge of financial collapse. The good news is that – after a month in the hospital and several weeks in an outpatient program – Larry is on the mend and heading toward complete recovery. Further good news is that he was healthy enough this month to undergo long-overdue hernia surgery. The bad news is that Larry is still unable to work as he recovers from the recent operation and – when all is said and done – he will have been out of work for nearly half a year.
Understandably, this has taken a heavy toll on his finances so we are organizing this GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds necessary to enable him to pay bills and back taxes, as well as meet his expenses during this time of skyrocketing costs for everything from food to fuel, utilities and gasoline as well as numerous business-related expenses when Larry returns to work in the Spring.
In tough economic times, most of us realize that health or life crises can quickly undermine a hardworking individual’s ability to keep their head above water. This is what’s happened to Larry Tyler and is why a successful GoFundMe campaign will be so helpful as he concentrates on complete recovery.
We have known Larry for many years as both a friend and client. He has long been a much-loved and respected member of our Northwest Connecticut community who has given so much to all of us. Reliable, kind, hardworking and honest, Larry now needs help to cope with bills and expenses that have accumulated to a staggering sum while he has been unable to work.
It’s time for us to give back to this fine, stalwart man during his time of need. Please contribute what you can to help lift Larry Tyler up and lighten his load while he is recovering. He has done so much for all of us – it’s time for us to return the favor and help this good man get back on his feet again.
