LaTessa’s Help From the Lord

Update: LaTessa is now home and under care. She begins the long road of rehabilitation and recovery, with a grateful heart. She is overwhelmed by the show of love and support.

Many know LaTessa Smith as a vibrant fireball for Jesus—a devoted and loving mother of 5, a former professional dancer with MC Hammer, a cancer survivor, and a dancing influencer who spreads joy on TikTok (Lady LaTessa) and Instagram.

But today, the very thing that has defined her—her ability to move, dance, and inspire—has been threatened.

In February, Tessa was diagnosed with the flu, but within days, she knew something was wrong. The pain was unbearable. What she thought was just a virus turned into something far more dangerous. Doctors discovered she had sepsis, a life-threatening infection that had spread into her bloodstream and throughout her spine. It required emergency surgery—a surgery that doctors warned could leave her unable to walk, let alone dance again.

But if you know Tessa, you know she is a fighter. She believes in the Report of the Lord, and she is standing on her faith for complete healing.

Yet, this medical crisis is just part of the battle.

This past year has been filled with unimaginable loss for Tessa. In April, she lost her father. Just ten days later, her brother passed away. And five days before Christmas, her mother took her final breath.

With grief weighing on her heart, her body fighting to heal, and medical expenses mounting, Tessa is struggling emotionally, physically, and financially.

We are asking family, friends, and her brothers and sisters in Christ to come together in love and support. Tessa has poured so much into the lives of others—now, it’s our turn to lift her up.
