Help Laubach Literacy Empower Adults

Laubach Literacy provides free tutoring in English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults 18 and older in Ventura County, California. We provide free training and all tutoring materials to tutors. This year, we applied for two grants for our administrative expenses, but the grants did not provide the money we requested to operate this year. We're seeking help with this year's effort to offer tutoring to anyone who would like to learn or improve their English and learn about American culture.

$50 buys the initial materials needed to start a student with a tutor

$25 pays for the printing of tutor training workshop materials

$20 pays for materials for another year of ongoing tutoring

For over 40 years, Laubach Literacy has provided tutoring to adults from all over the world. Our students have gone on to get better jobs, enroll in classes taught in English, get a driver's license, obtain US citizenship, and vote for the first time. Our students have been able to improve their lives and support their families as they gained better skills speaking, reading, and writing English. With improved English, grandmothers can read to their grandchildren. Families can interact more confidently with their neighbors and community. We make a genuine difference in people's lives.
