There isn’t a single minority owned cleaning product that can compete with major brands when it comes to quality, price, brand awareness & accessibility. The oldest brands have become house hold names for most of our families. This has made it extremely hard for minority owned products to compete in the market. The cleaning industry has been dominated by non-minority brands that were created during the height of segregation.
Lysol (1889) , Pine Sol (1929), Windex (1936)
The US Household cleaning market is worth over 47 billion dollars. Black Owned Products have generated less than $200 million dollars. How is this possible when Black American's are considered to be the most active consumers? There's a clear & obvious gap.
Our goal is to produce the first black owned cleaning product that is available in national retailers. Being in national retailers will put us in the position to compete with multi-billion dollar corporations. With over 25 million black adults in America, we project that we will gain support from at least 10% of our community. In addition, we believe that our story will resonate with other demographics that are willing to support black ownership.
After finding success in selling a black owned cleaning product in national retailers, our goal is to expand into the home goods market. Our goal is to become the most successful black owned home goods producer (by having the most accessible products).
