Help Launch a Church in Ukraine
Over the past eighteen months, I've had the privilege of working closely with Pastor Leonid in Ukraine, a dedicated individual who is incredibly passionate and committed to bringing the gospel to his people and to provide for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs during this dark and difficult time . Together with our team, we've navigated the challenging frontlines of Ukraine, sharing the gospel to thousands of people, delivering essential aid supplies such as food parcels, medicines and hygiene items, conducting evacuations, and offering hope and assistance to those affected by this horrific ongoing war.
Now, Pastor Leonid is embarking on a new mission to expand his ministry— to establish a church that will serve as a beacon of hope and support for the people of Dnipro and the thousands of internally displaced persons currently residing there. However, he needs your help to gather the required funds to be able to achieve this.
His vision for the church includes:
- A hub for humanitarian aid
- A rehabilitation center for displaced people who have experienced trauma from war.
- Rehabilitation center for soldiers with PTSD
- Bible classes/ conferences
- Children's ministry
- Ministry for elderly people
- Alcohol and drug rehab
I have been inspired by this man's incredible life of faith, his passion for the gospel, his country, his people, and the church. The eternal impact of his past and ongoing work is truly immeasurable and I'm excited to see what God will do through him with this church building.
- A message from Leonid -
"My name is Leonid, I serve as a church pastor and a military chaplain in the city of Dnipro.
At the time of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, I was in Israel on a business trip. Seeing what was happening in Ukraine, the Lord put it on his heart to return home.
In the first months of the war, we started volunteering together with volunteers from different countries of the world. We went to populated areas near the front line, delivered humanitarian aid, and also engaged in evacuation. For a year and a half, we visited people almost every day in the hot spots: Avdiivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Siversk, Kherson, Maryinka, Vugledar... And this is not the entire list of settlements where we helped. In addition to humanitarian aid, people could hear the news about salvation, the forgiveness of sins, which our Savior accomplished on the Cross.
While serving the people, we could notice that in addition to those people who are in dangerous places, in the city of Dnipro there are a large number of internally displaced persons, elderly people, military personnel undergoing rehabilitation, children who have become orphans and are forced to leave their homes. And all these people need support, both spiritual and moral. Therefore, the Lord revealed His will to work with these people as well. Unfortunately, our church did not have its own premises. Therefore, with faith in God that it is His will - to preach and help those who need it, they began to look for a place to buy in order to hold various events there. And the Lord blessed us by showing us a place that is very suitable for this:
40 acres of land, 200 m² of premises, close to the center, close to good transport links. The asking price is $150,000. Considering this, we began to test the Lord, whether He really gives us this opportunity. Therefore, they began to ask for a discount, and the owner lowered the price to 135 thousand dollars, with the agreement that half of the amount should be paid first, and the rest should be split over a period of 6 months.
With the joint efforts of the brothers and sisters of our church, we were able to collect a third of the amount, but we really need your help to collect the remaining funds. Therefore, we will be sincerely grateful if you join the good cause, and may the Lord bless each of the benefactors in the name of Jesus Christ."
