Help Launch Maine Times Investigational Reporting

Maine Times is a new, state-wide newspaper ready to investigate stories that matter to readers across Maine. We will report using print, online, podcast, newsletter and social media platforms.

Maine Times has been approved to be sold in retail locations throughout Maine. In addition, we will offer the option for paid subscriptions.

The news team of Maine Times is committed to clarity, depth and accountability. But we need your help to fund one of the most critical parts of that mission: our investigative journalism.

We are raising over $100,000 to launch the Maine Times investigative team. They will be a permanent staple of Maine Times dedicated to long-form, public-interest reporting. This team will pursue real life investigations of institutions, policies and decisions that shape life in Maine.

The public has already been sending critical news tips to Maine Times requesting that we investigate a number of serious concerns:

Our first Reddit post has been read by more than 45,000 people leading directly to over 200 news tips from across the state. These tips include corruption, public health system failures, problems getting land permits, education corruption, housing issues and more. The message is clear: Mainers are ready for real accountability, and they have asked us to deliver it.
