Help Launch the Next Level Athletic Academy: Empowering Non-Traditional Students to Achieve Greatness!
Hello! My name is Kwan L. Johnson, founder of Next Level Athletic Enhancements (NLAE), and I’m excited to introduce the Next Level Athletic Academy (NLAA)—an innovative basketball development academy set to launch in August 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC. I’m reaching out for your support to help bring this vision to life!
OUR MISSION
NLAA is designed to provide non-traditional students (especially homeschoolers and international students) with a unique and comprehensive athletic and academic experience. Our academy is the first of its kind in the US to focus on both basketball skills development and holistic personal growth. We aim to empower nontraditional student-athletes through a dynamic combination of athletic training, academic integration, and life skills development.
What We Offer
At NLAA, students will experience a comprehensive athletic program that includes:
- Basketball Skills Development: Advanced training that focuses on ball-handling, shooting, footwork, passing, defense, and overall basketball IQ. Our expert coaches will work with each athlete to refine their skills and elevate their game.
- Athletic Enhancement Training: Using top-tier equipment like the VertiMax system, we’ll help athletes improve their strength, speed, agility, vertical leap, and endurance, ensuring they can compete at their highest level.
- Mentality Training: Mental toughness is just as important as physical skill. We incorporate sports psychology techniques to teach goal setting, confidence building, focus, and stress management. We aim to develop strong, resilient athletes both on and off the court.
- Team Training and Competitions: Our athletes will have the chance to compete in national and international tournaments, gaining valuable experience and exposure. We'll also host in-house tournaments, scrimmages, and 3-on-3 competitions to keep them engaged and continuously improving.
Workshops and Educational Programs:
- College Exposure Workshops: We’ll help athletes prepare for college recruitment with exposure opportunities, campus visits, Q&A sessions with college coaches and players, and guidance on the college application process.
- Life Skills Workshops: We believe in developing well-rounded individuals. Athletes will participate in sessions on financial literacy, leadership, time management, and more.
- Athletic Educational Field Trips: We’ll take trips to sports facilities, professional games, and college campuses to broaden the athletes' perspectives and motivate them to pursue their dreams.
- International Exchange Opportunities: Through our partnerships with Dare to Dream and international organizations in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea, athletes will have the chance to train, compete, and learn from peers around the globe.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Launching this academy requires significant resources. Your donation will directly contribute to:
Booth Setup for Homeschool Events: To raise awareness and enroll new students, we need a professional setup for homeschool expos and events where we can introduce NLAA to the community.
Basketball Equipment: From basketballs and training aids to top-tier training systems like the VertiMax, we need quality equipment to ensure our athletes receive the best training.
Apparel for NLAA Athletes: We want to build team unity and pride with branded NLAA gear, including uniforms, warm-ups, and training apparel.
Facility Rental and Maintenance: To host our daily training sessions and workshops, we need to secure a top-notch facility that meets the needs of our athletes.
Marketing and Outreach: We plan to attend homeschool events across South Carolina to promote the academy, and this requires materials, travel, and event fees.
OUR GOAL
We are aiming to raise $50,000 to cover the startup costs of the academy, which will allow us to launch strong and sustain the program for its first year. Your support will help us secure the following:
- Lodging and relocation costs (transitioning from Moncks Corner to Myrtle Beach)
- Marketing and outreach for homeschool events, appearances, and community engagement
- Basketball equipment including VertiMax, weights, and training materials
- Apparel and uniforms for athletes
- Facility rental fees for training and games
