Help Laura in her fight against Pancreatic Cancer

As some of you may know my good friend and coworker, Laura, was diagnosed with stage III pancreatic cancer back in March of this year. She has since started treatment with the oncology center in Pittsfield and also goes to Dana Farber for diagnostic follow ups every couple months. She just finished with one chemo treatment and while the tumor has not spread and it has not shrunk at all. She began a new, more aggressive treatment recently. Because the first chemo didn’t shrink the tumor, she is looking into alternative integrative medicines which are not covered by her insurance. And these fees could be upwards of $10,000. She feels this will give her the best chance to beat this disease and ensure many more years with her husband and 4 children.

Laura has been a dedicated mother to her 4 children, Emma (15), Gabe (14), Anthony (5), and Michael (4). Loving, supportive wife to Alan. She is a generous and loyal person, who would do anything for her friends or family.

Laura has been a dental hygienist for 17 years; working at Dr. Nacht’s office for 12 , and Dr. Wise’s for 6 years. She is loved by all her patients as she treats everyone as she would if they were her own family. She goes above and beyond with everything she does. And this is reflected in all aspects of her life.

I am thankful for Laura and her friendship, and inspiring me to join the fitness industry, and being able to compete along side her in several bodybuilding competitions, where she placed first in her very first competition, and in the top 5 of all her other competitions. She is a big advocate of nutrition and fitness, and that is why I would like all of us to help her in her journey through this difficult time.
