Help Laura start again after mold poisoning

Hi, my name is Jim Flickinger, and I am fundraising for my daughter Laura, and her daughters River and Teagan. This year, after numerous health struggles, Laura finally found the source of the family’s issues, Toxic Mold Poisoning.

 

Laura and her girls have experienced a range of health issues including food allergies, hormone disruption, chronic anxiety, immune disfunction, and more.

Laura had testing done on both the home, and herself. Both came back with high levels of mold toxicity. Multiple strains of dangerous mold were present in both tests.

 

It quickly became clear that living in their current home was no longer safe. In order to heal from mold, the family must start over with nearly all belongings. Most furniture, appliances, and household items are unable to be safely cleaned of mold spores. The children will be parting with most of their toys and treasured belongings. Clothing can be saved, but must be washed in a tedious three part process to remove mold spores.

 

We are seeking to cover the costs of replacing material items, as well as helping ease the cost of living while navigating health challenges. Material needs will be: replacing furniture, basic household necessities, as well as some comfort items such as books and toys for the children. Due to the need to detox from mold, the family is unable to safely purchase used items as there is no way of knowing they are safe. Any exposure to mold could negate healing and contaminate their new surroundings.

 

The family will be moving into their new space in late November, or early December. Our hope is to have them settled in time to have a normal Holiday Season.

 

The process of starting over is challenging, emotionally, and financially. Laura has been struggling with her health and unable to work at her normal capacity. This is currently more than she is able to handle alone.
