Help Laura win the Battle against 2 Brain Tumors

Donation protected
My name is Susan Kreidler, and I’m originally from a tiny Michigan town called Buchanan. I am a friend of Laura Wagley who lives near the same small Michigan town near where we both grew up. Laura is a beautiful single Mom to a teenage daughter, and is a super intelligent, educated lady who has a good job in Michigan with HUD.

During the Holidays, Laura and her daughter went to get groceries and Laura began to feel really terrible, fell down, could hardly communicate, was having trouble standing or walking. It appeared at first as if she had a stroke. An ambulance was called and subsequent tests a few weeks later revealed a tumor on her pituitary gland. The tumor was causing issues with maintaining body temperature, tiredness, and fainting episodes to name just a few of the symptoms.

The doctors in the small town she lives were not able to help diagnose and treat her, so she found a doctor in the Detroit area. A few days ago Laura went through a battery of tests, as she is scheduled for brain surgery in two weeks. During these tests, the doctors performed a two hour brain scan, and it was discovered that she has a second brain tumor in another location in her brain and ultimately she will require two surgeries due to the type and location of both tumors.

I asked her and vetted this with her and started this GoFundMe because I refuse to abandon her in her time of need, and was her friend before and will support her as much as possible through-out this process. When things get tough something like this illustrates how your own life issues are miniscule in comparison. This is what we do, we support our friends in their time of need.

Let’s face it, despite the fact that she has health insurance, Laura will have a serious and long recovery from not one, but two brain surgeries. She will need funds to cover what her insurance won’t. In addition, she will have to support her teenage daughter, keep food on the table, pay bills, housing, taxes, and medications, all while she recovers. She faces a full-month without pay until she can file for short-term disability and has already incurred a $5000 bill from a local hospital for her first round of tests.

The typical cost of brain surgery ranges from $50,000-$150,000 and some web pages say up to $2.1 million dollars. After brain surgery, a patient might need physical therapy, speech therapy or occupational therapy. This can cost hundreds of dollars per session -- and can total thousands or tens of thousands of dollars or more.

Anything you can do to help her, whether repost this, or donate or send her a card, is much appreciated.
