Help Laurel and her family as she recovers.

Hello, my name is Laurel Schiffmeyer. I am a sophomore at the University of Denver. While walking on campus, two of my friends and I were run over by a car. All three of us were rushed to the hospital, where I underwent two surgeries to stabilize my femur and clavicle. Due to two fractured tibias and multiple torn ligaments, I still need surgery on both of my knees. Because of these surgeries, I had to withdraw from school and move back home to Cincinnati, where I could receive full-time care.
My mother is a full-time teacher and cares for my disabled father, who is still recovering from surgeries of his own. My sister, Michaela, is a nurse and has taken an unpaid leave of absence at her hospital to care for me in the foreseeable future. She had already exhausted all of her PTO and vacation time to be with me in Denver immediately after the accident and has expenses and school loans that she will now struggle to pay to be here with me.
My goal is to return to school in the fall to finish my degree in molecular biology!! I appreciate any and all help to make that happen and lessen this burden on my family.
