Help Lauren Overcome Ovarian Cancer!

This fundraiser was established by Conor Molloy, a nephew of Lauren Henrici. Lauren Henrici will be the beneficiary of all funds to pay for diagnostic related expenses.
Who is Lauren?
Lauren is a devoted mother of three, fitness enthusiast, dedicated yogi, and hostess
extraordinaire who is currently battling ovarian cancer. Lauren has always been an active and health-conscious individual, with a passion for fitness. She has been a certified yoga instructor for decades and her yoga practice has been a constant source of strength and serenity in her life. Lauren is dedicated to sharing her love of practice with others and is committed to each and every one of her students whether at her studio, Evolve: Fitness for Body & Soul, Quinnipiac University or the Wallingford Recreation Center.
In addition to her passion for teaching yoga, Lauren's loyalty and unconditional love for her family is a proud core value. Lauren lost her husband and best friend of 39 years,
Craig, to Pancreatic Cancer in 2018. During his battle, she attended every doctor's
appointment, surgery and chemo session with him. Lauren was by his side every step of his horrific journey until his last breath.
Lauren is a committed and loving mother of three beautiful children, Luke, Jillian and Timothy. They have been her motivation and inspiration throughout her life. Her youngest son Timothy has special needs and is also physically disabled requiring him to wear a prosthetic arm. Tim lives at home and relies on his mother for physical, emotional and financial support. In 2020, Lauren welcomed her first grandson, Craig (CJ), son of Jillian and Ben, into her life. There is no love like a grandmother’s love and Lauren exemplifies that. Her little CJ brings her joy beyond words and she is determined to watch him grow up.
Those of you who are lucky enough to know Lauren personally are aware that she is largely known as a critical linchpin for the entire extended family. If you know any Molloy or Henrici, you know how ferociously we prioritize and care for family-first values and Lauren is a gleaming beacon of those values. Lauren has also been the life of the party, hosting family gatherings and events for over 45 years. Her warm and welcoming spirit always evokes that home-y feeling - from stuffed bread to frozen margaritas. Every Henrici and Molloy summer pool party filled with friends and family was enjoyed by all. Craig and Lauren’s home has always been a welcoming hub for family, and she continues to open her home to share meals, laughter and love.
Cancer Diagnosis & Fund Use
On March 15, Lauren went to Yale NNH for a routine outpatient hysterectomy. During
surgery, the surgeon discovered a cancerous ovarian tumor and immediately turned the
surgery over to an oncology specialist who successfully removed all visible signs of cancer. After eight hours of surgery, Lauren woke up to discover this devastating news. In addition to recovering from the emotional and physical turmoil of major surgery, Lauren has begun a chemotherapy regimen to treat her ovarian cancer. Despite the difficult journey ahead, she remains outlandishly positive and grounded - a byproduct of the mental fortitude established through decades of yoga.
Her family and friends are rallying around her, but the financial burden of household and medical bills is overwhelming. She has had to temporarily close the studio and stop teaching altogether to begin the process of healing and recovery. Due to this, her income has been shut down, but the bills and medical co-pays continue to come in. That's why we are asking for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, will go towards supporting Lauren’s household and most importantly medical bills. We ask that you support this incredible woman, mother, yogi, aunt, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend during this difficult time.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness - we can only hope to throw a pool party in your honor.
