Get Lauri Bickel Back on Her Feet
Donation protected
Over 100 children have known her as "Mom". Lauri's left leg was amputated on Nov 21st, 2019. She normally lives in Costa Rica and has given a home to over 100 children in need over the last ten years. She has been in the US for over 4 months, enduring surgery, intense medication and now an amputation. She is lying in a hospital in Alabama far from her family and the children she cares for so much. If each person reading this contributes $5 it will empower Lauri to get back on her feet and back to her children.
Lauri has been on very strong antibiotics since March. She endured two surgeries to "clean" the infection from her foot. But, after eight months, her infection did not get any better. The team of doctors and nurses caring for her fought valiantly to save her foot. But, even after receiving multiple "last line of defense" antibiotics intravenously every day for months, the decision was made to amputate her left leg just below the knee.
The Lord has been good and many costs of the surgery and hospitalization have already been met. But, this family has had so many unexpected expenses and Lauri has a very long road ahead.
This was last Christmas. This Christmas she will be alone, recovering from her amputation, and her family will be in Costa Rica missing their mother.
