Help Lauryn Help Special Education Students

Lauryn is attending Capella University to earn her School Psychologist Degree. When she graduates she is required to work a year of clinical hours at the school district with no pay or benefits. Lauryn has worked with children since she was a teen. She is a helper and an inspiration. Lauryn is furthering her education to continue to provide for the needs of those who need the most help. Lauryn completed her masters in speech pathology to work with children in low income and high-risk populations. While providing services for her students, she identified a significant need for school psychologists to assess the needs of this same population. Many of the children she served were identified later than was ideal for proper services and growth of the children. She learned the parents were often overwhelmed because the children’s needs were going unmet. Parents often noted they were aware something was needed but did not know how to fix the problem or get appropriate services. Lauryn chose to re-enroll in school to further her education to acquire the credentials that allow her to provide services at the level of school psychologist. I am seeking assistance for Lauryn because her history is to help others and not be concerned with how it may set her back financially. She has school loans still outstanding for her masters in speech pathology, and she is now taking on another program that will leave her in debt many thousands of dollars more. On top of that, her year of clinical practice while providing services to the population she will serve, will get paid nothing. This will leave her with no income for an entire year. Although her final debt will be well over $100,000, $52,600 will allow her to pay living expenses, school and other debt. Lauryn tends to believe it is humanly possible to sleep only a few hours a night when taking on time consuming tasks. Working a full-time job, taking classes and working a full-time clinical year with no pay is too much for little sleep.
Lauryn has spent much of her life helping children. She has worked with foster kids in temporary shelter, coached children’s gymnastics and cheerleading. She volunteered her time coaching younger girls, and special needs children of all ages with physical impairments, neurodiverse, and intellectual disabilities who wanted to participate in a sport, many programs could not otherwise allow.
In addition to all the above, Lauryn is blessed to be an excellent student. She is currently receiving high marks in all her classes. She expects to graduate at the top of her class. As she always has, she will continue to provide the best possible service to the students she serves. I am very proud of Lauryn and hope all her years of hard work and unselfish acts for others will help make the road ahead a little easier to travel. Please help Lauryn by donating any amount you feel will help. Thank you so much for helping someone that plans on helping so many others.
