For the past seven years, Alex Branson has been entertaining and educating children through her dynamic music classes in Brooklyn, NY, called Lavender Blues .
Lavender Blues was created because she wanted to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where children and parents/caregivers could enjoy a loving experience with each other and in community with other families.
"Great experience for children and adults. Upbeat, interactive, and educational.“
-Jennifer Acheon
"My daughter and I are absolutely in love with Miss Alex's classes. She has endless amounts of energy and her songs are intelligence and fun. She is so caring with the kids and can handle the chaos so smoothly!"
-Renata Barradas Panchal
"Best class in NYC! Miss Alex (as Luca refers to her) is very hands on and FUN! She's patient and creative. Her songs are original and catchy… my son performs them throughout the week. The parachute is a novel and memorable touch. Keep up the great work! xo"
-Jack Santacroce
Lavender Blues currently offers ten classes a week across several Brooklyn neighborhoods. And after a highly successful YouTube TV pilot , a REMIX album , and regular live concerts that attract loyal families and newcomers alike, the program is officially bursting at the seams! In order to continue providing the high-quality education and entertainment that has become her trademark, Alex has been seeking a space to house all of her classes and activities that her beloved “Bunnies” (as she calls the children) and their families have come to rely on.
Just a week ago, she found that space! But she needs your help. Lavender Blues needs to raise $10,000 in order to move into its very own studio in Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY by January 1. Will you consider a contribution to help the Lavender Blues community and mission to continue to expand?
"Tal vez sea uno de los momentos mas memorables de la semana para mi hija!"
~Juan Pablo Baene

"My 17 month old and I love watching the YouTube videos. This is the only thing she watches. She laughs, dances, and claps after each video. We love the songs created by Lavender Blues... they are absolutely creative, catchy, and soulful. Can't wait to join live classes!"
-Gabrielle Winkler Pooni
A dedicated space for Lavender Blues will allow Alex to not only continue offering her musical classes, but provide other services and events that are not possible right now.
With your help, Lavender Blues can become a community hub, welcoming to families and caregivers of all kinds, providing first aid training, and hosting storytimes, movie nights, and other seasonal events and activities. She will be able to further develop Lavender Blues TV in its very own studio. And at any time, families can stop in for a cup of tea, a chat, and a chance to connect to others in the community. At its core, Lavender Blues about having fun, celebrating childhood, and embracing love, positivity, and creativity. This community space is the next essential step in making this dream come true. That dream is for every child and new family to start their life with me, Lady B.
“Alex Branson AKA Lady B or “Miss Alex”, has been bringing the musical fun for babies and toddlers all over Brooklyn for seven years. A former nanny, she knows the “grownup & me” class scene well, and works to make her classes as fun for the grownups as they are for the kids. Expect fun and funky original songs, bubbles, and lots of positive vibes.”
-Red Tricycle
“Lavender Blues is an intimate music and movement session for babies and toddlers. During a 40-minute class, participants use rhythm and music in conjunction with singing and dancing to have fun, learn how to control their bodies, and develop important social skills. In class, everyone sits in a circle singing songs, playing with instruments, and moving their fingers, arms, and feet. They also march, dance, and play with a ginormous parachute. Lavender Blues helps parents and caretakers to create an undeniable bond with their children while meeting others in the community.”
