Help Lay Amera Wallace to Rest

Tanya Green lost her daughter Amera Wallace due to gun violence in the city and state of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Dineen Park. Amera was in the company of friends when shots rang out from every direction, causing her and many others to run for their lives. Amera, amongst many other children, was hurt that night, but Amera lost her life.

Amera was just 17 when she passed away. She held a position as a team member at one of the local Wing Stops in the area. She was a pleasure to be around and extremely helpful. She was trying and willing to make the needed changes so that she could live a better life. Amera holds a special place in her mother’s heart, she was her baby girl of three. She was her best friend and her inspiration for living.

Tanya's heart sits heavy right now as she is suffering with her loss. The thought of her daughter no longer coming in the door or Tanya not being able to enter her bedroom is devastating. No parent should have to bury their child, especially due to vicious acts of violence in our community. Amera will never get to know what her future held for her, whether it was marriage, kids, a family of her own, a career, etc. Sadly, neither will Tanya have the experience.
