Help Lay Joshua Drake to Rest

Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,

I am writing to you today to share the loss of my cousin, Joshua Alan Drake, who passed away in the early morning of November 22, 2024, at the age of 31, after battling a sudden stroke on November 5, 2024.

Joshua was a kind, gentle soul who often touched the lives of those he worked with or came in contact with. His love for the Lord was expressed through his actions by serving others in his community of Fort Pierce, FL.

Joshua spent a lot of time with his big brother, Jimmy, watching anime and reading manga. He adored his older sister, Laura, where she would share her experiences living so far away in Kentucky. Joshua's passions in life included his cat - Petey, a 16 year-old long-haired Maine coon. Joshua worked hard, helping to provide for his parents. He had the heart of a 'Giver'. He was content being with family and people.

Joshua was an avid drummer, loved to write short stories, and was a huge Marvel/DC studio nerd. He enjoyed Halo, FFXIV, the Tales Series, Persona5, and many titles from the Final Fantasy series on gaming consoles, of which he was a collector, both new and vintage.

Joshua would often watch his favorite movie Rear Window, starring Jimmy Stewart. He would binge-watch shows like Friends, The Office, Scrubs, and Frasier multiple times. His favorite food was chicken tenders, especially from Raising Cane's and Smokey Bones. His favorite drink was Dr. Pepper, which he enjoyed daily. His mom, Bonny, recently made him his favorite sugar cookies and just yesterday, she smelled fresh baked bread, a mealtime favorite.

Joshua had the best hugs, often wrapping his mom, Bonny, up in his burly arms, reminding her how beautiful she was daily. He would spend hours with his father, Jim working at Goodwill Industries International, serving others. They shared their love of Jesus and would have long conversations about faith.

We are assured of one thing today: Joshua loved Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his LORD and Savior. We are confident Joshua is sitting with Jesus today. This is the hope we have during this difficult time.

We are absolutely devastated by Josh's passing and not prepared for costs to cover the funeral expenses. I've started this fundraiser for the beneficiary - Uncle Jim & Aunt Bonny Drake to lay their son to rest.

Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

With love,
Sumiko Jividen
