Lilian Marisol Morales was born in Santa Ana in El Salvador on November 20, 1973, and she went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2024. For those of you who did not know her all too well, we want to honor her and share a bit of her story. First and foremost, she was a firm believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith and hope in God kept her grounded and helped her manage the difficult seasons. She was an amazing mother to us (Adrian and Irene) and she was ALWAYS there praying over us, encouraging us, and keeping us humble. She enjoyed the smallest things in life like, spending time with family eating pupusas, listening to joyous music ranging from La Sonora Dinamita to Marco Antonio Solis to worship music and sitting behind a vanity trying out the latest makeup products and trends.
In 2008, her life took a turn when she began experiencing symptoms that doctor’s thought aligned to Multiple Sclerosis. After three years of scans, flairs ups, treatment plans, doctor visits, hospital stays she was diagnosed with Devic’s disease which is a form of Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO)– this rare condition impacts the immune system and damages the spinal cord and the nerves of the eyes. She experienced many flair ups that caused lack of mobility, dozens of hospital stays, weakness in her arms and legs, and loss of vision. Despite the suffering and pain, she never stopped praying, praising and smiling. That’s the way we would like everyone to remember her, with an infectious smile from ear to ear!
We are hoping to raise money for funeral expenses and appreciate any and all contributions. We have started a GoFundMe page, but we have also shared other methods of donating such as Zelle, CashApp or Venmo.
We thank God for the time we had to spend with our lovely mother, and while she will be missed very much, we know she has received her healing and is with her maker.
