Help Lay Teresa McDonough to Rest

Donation protected
Teresa McDonough lost her battle with cancer on August 6th, 2024. She was loved by her family, friends, and neighbors, and her medical staff enjoyed being around her and helped her in her final days.

Her passing was sudden and unexpected.

She suffered from a mass in her neck and shoulder that grew into her heart and spine, causing her intense, often unbearable pain, but she was working to strengthen her body in a rehabilitation center. This time was meant to prepare her for invasive surgery to remove the mass and get her back to her life.

Teresa was supposed to go back home, but that day never came for her.

She was found unresponsive in her bed and never woke up, despite emergency responders and the ER team doing everything they could to restart her heart.

Now, through the grief and sorrow, it’s time to lay her to rest. The financial burden falls solely on her daughter, Cathy.

Cathy’s fiancé is still recovering from spine surgery and the family has been struggling to support themselves. This added financial strain is too much to bear alone. That’s why we, her friends, are asking you to help.

No donation is too small in this time of extreme need and all proceeds will go directly toward the final expenses of Teresa McDonough. We want to help the family give her a dignified send-off from the life that was taken from her too soon, but even that is a major expense.

Teresa left monthly expenses of over $1,000 that must be met to go through three generations’ worth of belongings that were entrusted to her. Her life insurance will barely cover the cost of her casket. There are no savings to come to the rescue in this desperate time.

She was a veteran of the United States Army, but that entitles her to nothing more than a flag and a marker at the foot of her grave.

Funeral costs alone are a crippling amount of debt to incur, so we humbly ask for your help to see them through this terrible time. No one wants to be in this position, and we thank you for any support you can offer Cathy and her family as they carry out the work of giving Teresa the fondest farewell they can.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity will never be forgotten.
