Help Lay Vernon to Rest and Find Justice

Vernon Robinson was 81 years old and lived alone. His siblings and other family members had not heard nor seen him in a while. He was not answering phone calls or text messages.
This drove his youngest daughter to go to his house, to check on him.
She got to the house and found the front door ajar. She searched through the entire house, calling him. But there was no response.
She searched again and found him in his bedroom. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed his legs on the floor.
The reason she missed him the first time around was because the top of the table, that was on top of him, was purposely covered by the nearby drapes. He, himself, was covered by a green and white checkered flannel shirt, from just below his right shoulder, down to his waist. He was frail and emaciated, looking like skin and bones.
She partially pulled the curtain off of the table, to verify him and saw his deceased body, contorted, in a manner that looked suspect. She looked him over and noticed that his arm and hands looked broken. He looked as if he was covering his head in defense.
There were also what looked to be cigarette burns on his back and on the back of his right arm. But he did not smoke. His shoulder blades were protruding from his back; and there was a lamp near his head with blood on it as well as blood on the wall, right above his head.
After these details were discussed with the police, they wrote it off as natural causes. However, his family believed otherwise. So, his daughters did further investigation on their own and found that this and other information just didn't add up.
His cell phone, house phone, wallet and keys were missing. The whereabouts of his truck was questionable. And there was a missing check for his rent that did not make it to his property manager, the Tuesday afternoon (November 12th), before his body was discovered.
The findings, which included pictures of the scene, prior to the arrival of the fire department and police, were emailed, along with a written account of the situation, to the Medical Examiner.
Their discoveries helped in getting the Medical Examiner to perform an autopsy and toxicology report.
Vernon was a giving and selfless person, who was willing to help others - no questions asked! For many years, he would volunteer to cook and deliver food to churches and homeless shelters, in the metro area, to feed those in need. And, now, it's his turn. He is in need.
Please help Vernon's family raise funds for his funeral costs and investigation costs, to find out who took the life of their loved one. They need to lay him to rest, so he can go home.
Thank you. And the family truly appreciates any help that can be given.
