Donation protected
Captain Barnes, who is a proud member of the US Army 335th SC(T) command in East Point , Ga , and his wife Latrice are seeking elevator assistance for their daughter Layla. On July 18th, twelve year old Layla was playing at a friend’s house when gunmen opened fire at the home. Layla unfortunately was struck by a bullet causing her to be airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta- Egleston Hospital. After numerous surgeries Layla spent over a month in Egleston Intensive Care Unit before being transported to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA., she is currently paralyzed from the chest down. Fulton and Henry County Police Department have apprehended the suspects and are continuing to do everything they can to assist the family with this tragic matter. CPT Barnes and his family have managed to make certain home modifications to assist Layla . They are currently doing everything they can to purchase an elevator system in the home. So that Layla has access to all areas of the home. This cost is very expensive. The Barnes family is seeking support for any donation and contribution to assist them in this purchase. This has been a much unexpected tragic event for their family. Any donation or fundraising tactics/ideas would be much appreciated, and it will help Layla out tremendously. This unforgettable event has forever changed her life, and they are exploring all opportunities for help/therapies to assist Layla in transitioning to her new way of life. They know without your support , they cannot reach these goals alone, so thank you in advance for your generosity. They would also like to thank you so much for taking the time to read their story.
