Help Layton Fight Cancer!

UPDATE ON LAYTON FROM MOM:
"We mom & him went to Huntsmans in Utah today for a second opinion. We wanted to make sure we were doing all we can to rid Laytons body of this cancer. Our question was if we took the eye out would there be a better chance it would not spread or return. The answer is no. There is only a 2 to 5% chance taking out the eye at this point would help at all. With the size of the tumor and the genetic makeup, the cells have likely already spread.

So our options now...
1. To treat the eye from the damage of the radiation to maintain as much site as possible. Dr.Harrison said starting injections every three months could help save his vision.
2. Keep his immune system as healthy as possible!!! Dr. Harrison said there are trial studies that have worked on other cancers that we could start , immunotherapy.
3. Enjoy life, and continue to do the things he loves. Stress is not good.
Please continue to pray for my son. Through God all things are possible! Layton is so strong and positive. We are so proud of him."

Hi everyone! We need help in raising funds for Layton Combs (Montrose, CO) during his fight against cancer!

After a carwreck in June, Layton had a CT scan for a head injury. This CT scan would flip his world upside down. The scan revealed a spot in his eye. After further testing, it was found that Layton had Uveal Melanoma. Layton has had two surgeries on his left eye - one to place a radiation device in the eye to try and kill the tumor and one to remove it. There will be more surgeries to follow from the damage this caused to the eye itself. During Layton's first surgery, they took a biopsy of the tumor for biogenics. It showed the tumor to be Class 2 and Prame positive. This means the melanoma is aggressive and the chance of metastasis is greater. Doctors believe there is a chance the cells could have already spread and we are unable to see them or their damage at this time. Layton will be undergoing many tests, scans, biopsies, and treatments, along with many surgeries to fix his eye. He has been able to work little, making it extremely hard to pay his bills, plus all the travel expenses to Denver and back home. This will be a very long and expensive journey.

Layton's family has been by his side every second. Layton is such a positive, bright light in this world. He is doing his best to stay positive through all of this change.

Please consider donating to Layton and his family during this extremely difficult time. No amount is too small. #cancersucks #fightforlayton
