Hey there, I’m Leah Walters and your help would be greatly appreciated for me to achieve my dream job as a Pilot. I currently attend a catholic school in south-west London where I am studying Maths, Physics and Geography A-Level. I am an extremely hard-working student and try my hardest to get the best grades possible considering the position I’m in. It has been my dream since I was 3 years old to become a pilot and the thought of making that a reality makes my heart smile.
After telling my family this is the career, I wanted to pursue we all knew it was going to be hard for me to initially get there considering the funds required.
My passion for this job is constantly fuelled by my love for flight. I have only been flying once, with Air Cadets, and I will never forget it. It was one of the best moments of my life; so exhilarating. That’s how I felt in a momentary experience, imagine what it would be like if that was my every day.
Interestingly, women in flight are extremely rare, the aviation industry tells of only 5% of women are pilots in comparison to men which is more the reason why I would like to be a pilot! I think that it’s good to challenge the norms of society and help create a better world for all.
Isn’t it frustrating to think that the only thing stopping you from your dream is finances? No matter your passion no matter your drive money is the issue. The thought that insufficient funds could let my dream remain as just a simple dream. My first step on this new journey is to get my Airline Transport Pilots Licence. This fundraiser, your donations and support would help me immensely towards my life goal and preventing my dream from turning into a fantasy.
