Help Leann and Justin recover from Elkhorn tornado
Donation protected
In the Midwest you get used to tornado warnings that result in little damage. But then one day you are shocked when one tears through your best friend's neighborhood, and you get the message "Our house just got hit". Leann, my best friend of 35 years and her husband, Justin have been impacted by the tornado that tore through Elkhorn, NE yesterday. Justin was home at the time of the storm and he was lucky he was able to get to the basement with their 3 fur babies. Their family is physically okay, however their house and property have sustained some major damage. We know that they lost the front and back doors, windows and their roof has been damaged. And when I say their roof was damaged, I mean it was lifted off of the house frame and then set back down. In one picture you can see that their curtains are half inside their house and half outside. It may take a while until they know how severe the damage to the house is as it will need to be structurally evaluated but based on the current obvious damage to their house and neighborhood, they will not be able to return home for the known near future and will be facing a lot of challenges over the next 6 months or more. I am setting up this GoFundMe up to help them through the short term and to assist with whatever clean up they can do now. As we learn more, this may turn into a longer-term fund raiser to assist in rebuilding their house and property. We don't have many pictures yet, but I am hoping to get more soon so you can see the extent of the damage done. The main picture is a view looking out from their backdoor. Hopefully I can get more pictures to share in the next week. Thank you for all your support and please share this GoFundMe so it can get to as many people that can assist.
