Help Lee Childers fight Cancer

Hello my name is Autumn, my husband Lee Childers was diagnosed with Cancer. He had just started a great job doing what he loves being a firefighter. Lee had been a paid on call/volunteer firefighter for 13+ years. Last Halloween Lee turned jaundice, we thought it was his gallbladder or maybe liver. The doctors ran tests and determined he had a very rare cancer in the top part of the small intestine. The doctors determined that a whipple surgery would be best. So on December 26th,2023 Lee had the whipple surgery, fingers crossed that they would get it all. Also at this time his health insurance had not kicked in yet. Lee was in the hospital for 7days after surgery, then another week after because of an infection from surgery. Follow up appointment after the doctor tells us, Lee’s cancer is in over half of the lymph nodes in that area and that because of this Lee’s cancer is a stage 3. Lee has to do chemotherapy for at least 6 months, maybe longer. He will also have more pet scans to make sure it isn’t metastatic. Lee has not been able to work since December 26th.
