Help Lee Cowling

Donation protected
Up until October of 2017, my brother Lee Cowling worked as a chef full time. In October of 2017 Lee woke up with a horrible kink in his neck. As days went by the pain became worse and he was unable to move his neck without moving his entire upper torso. He went to the urgent care and was given muscle relaxers, but they did not help. On 10/12/2017 my brother could not stand on his own and was in tremendous pain.  We called an ambulance for him. The initial diagnosis was Endocarditis and it had gone septic throughout his blood.  He lost vision in both eyes, his mitral heart valve began leaking due to the infection attacking it. His right knee had to be scoped and cleaned out to rid it of infection.  He nearly died. The first hospitalization lasted 13 days. He was home for 6 days before we had to go to the ER, where he was admitted again, this time for pneumonia, due to his leaking heart valve.  That visit lasted 9 days.  He had to quit his job due to his medical conditions.
In January 2018 he had his mitral heart valve replaced with an artificial heart valve.  Lee has had 5 eye surgeries to attempt to reattach his retinas which became detached due to the infection that attacked them. His eyesight has improved slightly, but he is unable to drive and has difficulty seeing and reading.  Both of Lee's knees have become severely arthritic which causes immense pain when he walks. He will eventually need to have both knees replaced.
Lee applied for SS disability but has since received a letter of denial. He appealed that decision today, but will not receive an answer for 90-120 days.
Lee has been unable to work since October 2017 due to his disabling medical conditions and has had no income with the exception of family donations and the Alaska PFD. He sold his car and his snow tires, but he has nothing else to sell. He is able to live on my property rent and utility free, but he still has monetary needs that he is unable to cover on his own until his disability claim is approved.  My brother is not one to ask for handouts, but he has run out of options and money.
If you feel led to give, please do so. and please share this go fund me. Thank you !
