Help Lee Porte and his road to recovery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Christina and I'm helping fundraise money for Lee Porte. As most of you know on Friday February 14th Lee had an unexpected accident which has placed him in an induced coma. For the moment while doctors are working on a course of treatment, we are unsure how long Lee will be in the ICU and how long recovery will be when he's out of the induced coma.
Lee has had 3 CT scans as of February 14th which have shown a centimeter and a half by a centimeter bruising on the right frontal lobe,
As most of you know Lee, he is a father to 2 beautiful girls. He would do anything for them as they are his world. Lee is a very hard worker and would do anything to help anyone he knows. He would give you the shirt off his back if he could. He is know for working on anything with a motor, and plow driver.
Unsure of the outcome once the induced coma is let up, Lee will not be able to work for some time. He will need help covering the cost of bills and food. But as most of you know he does not like to sit around but will need to in order to heal.
We are setting up this gofundme as a means of support in this difficult time so he can have an ease of mind when he is in recovery.
All donations, kind words, and prayers will be sent his way. Thank you for taking the time to read, donate or even send a prayer.
Update as of February 25th:
Lee is doing great still needs alot more rest but his personality is still the same.
Update as of February 21st: Lee was up walking, talking and eating solid foods, hospital allowed him to go home from the hospital and has a long road to recovery. He has to go and see a neurologist. Lee is now on medication for the seizures for the next three months. He will have to take it easy and if his headaches get really bad, then he will be going back to the hospital and getting another scan.
Update as of February 20th: The MRI came back. The bruising has not changed in size. The doctor brought him out of the coma around lunch today. He is still a little loopy because of the amount of sedation he was on. He is talking, laughing and cracking jokes. He will be in the hospital for a couple more days to make sure there is nothing happening neurologically.
Update as of February 19th: MRI was done today. The only thing he is on now is the respirator and the sedation medication. He is fighting the sedation. Trying to open his eyes and sit up. They are going to try waking him up tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Update as of February 18th:
No new changes as of today drs have postponed Lee's MRI until tomorrow. Lee is still in an induced coma.
Update as of today February 17th:
They will be taking Lee for an MRI tomorrow and will be keeping In the induced coma a bit longer for the swelling to come down. As they do not want to cause more trauma.
