Hello, my name is Yomna and I am from the UK. I am raising money of behalf of my friend Lenda Shemlakh to help her and her family evacuate from Gaza. Here is Lenda’s story in her own words:
Hello, I am Lenda Jebreel Shamlakh, 23 years old, Palestinian, born in Gaza, graduate of Mathematics Education from IUG University.
who am l !?!
The days pass very quickly. We no longer remember the past and the future no longer has any features. Our dreams have been buried and there is no longer room for them in the city...
Only the graves here fill the corners and squares of my city.
Before October 7, I was 22 years and seven months old.
Days filled with a mixture of sadness and happiness, along with several wars and calamities, but despite the difficulties, we strived for distinction and excellence and loved life.
Now, we were born on the 7th of October, and we are 200 years old and more...
Our minds and hearts are flooded with images of blood, body parts, and a lot of rubble.
I no longer remember my rights as a human being to obtain the minimum necessities of life.
The availability of food, drink, shelter, and even clean air are no longer a given in life...
My life has no value as a human being. In the eyes of the world, we are just numbers...
We are the ones who die a thousand times every passing second!
I am looking for a world that includes me every day
I hope you will help me travel outside Gaza to save us and achieve our dreams
I will attach some pictures of my life before the war :
This is me and my 3-year-old daughter, Leen
This is me on the day I graduated from the Islamic University, from the College of Education, specializing in mathematics education
This is my family that is always proud of me
my house :
# After the war, the occupation bombed my house and it became rubble
And here I began to live in war, in Rafah in a tent that did not provide me with the lowest standard of living
As for my life during the war, I did volunteer work in a school made of tents called Al-Awda School in Mawasi Rafah. We taught children from the primary and middle schools with the simplest means to avoid ignorance among the children of Gaza who were deprived of education during the war.
Finally , I hope to live a life in which I enjoy my rights as a human being, and to travel outside Gaza to get a safety place and to achieve my dreams and ambitions, and to work in my job as a teacher and achieve a decent life for my young daughter.
