Help Leonardo Villamor Battle Kidney Disease

Hello! My name is Rommel Villamor, and I humbly ask your gracious heart to build a medical fund for my uncle, Leonardo Villamor. He’s 78 years old and currently resides in the Philippines.

In 2010, my uncle was diagnosed with cancer in his right kidney. To prevent infecting other organs, his right kidney was immediately removed upon diagnosis. My uncle recovered well from the said procedure. And, to ensure that his remaining kidney functions healthy, he religiously had wellness check-ups with his doctors.

Until his fate decided otherwise.

My uncle started to exhibit kidney failure symptoms in February of this year. He started urinating with blood (hematuria). Initially, his doctors said that the hematuria was due to bladder and prostate problems. However, in May, his hematuria worsens, causing him extreme pain and discomfort. He was rushed to the emergency on several occasions and underwent a blood transfusion due to blood loss. My relatives sought a second opinion and later found out that my uncle suffers from Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5.

Furthermore, his kidney has a tumor. His doctors advised him to undergo kidney removal (note that he has one kidney left) and lifetime dialysis. The removal procedure will also tell if the tumor is benign or malignant.

As July entered, my uncle experienced the worst symptoms. His legs, feet, and face swell up drastically along with hematuria. His appetite begins to decline. My relatives intend to rush him to a nearby public hospital as their funds have depleted to pay for the hospitalization. But, his doctor advised to send him to a private hospital (which is significantly more expensive), because his current condition is life-threatening already. He is now undergoing emergency dialysis, and his remaining kidney must be removed immediately.

Money doesn't come by easy for my cousins, all stay-at-home mothers with limited sources of funds. They have exhausted all means to provide for my uncle’s medical needs, but the fund is still short.

No amount is small to make a difference. Your generous help will go far. Please give my warrior uncle another chance at life, so he can still be with his loving family.
