Help Leongatha toddler Oskar Morris beat cancer

It is every parent’s worst nightmare, to find out that your child is unwell. This is the reality for Leongatha locals Dale and Ella Morris, whose beautiful three-year-old son Oskar was diagnosed last week with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. The family’s entire world has been turned upside down with the discovery of a large tumour in Oskar’s abdomen putting pressure on his kidneys, bladder, and intestines. The road ahead is a long one with months of chemo, treatments, and surgeries. Oskar is currently receiving urgent treatment at The Monash Children’s Hospital/Ronald McDonald House, where Dale and Ella will be spending the next few months dedicating their life to being by Oskar’s side, whilst also looking after their 9-month-old Arlo.

My name is Alice and I became friends with Ella and Dale after my son Otis went to daycare at Karmai in Korumburra with Oskar, where they formed a special friendship. Oskar now attends the Leongatha Children’s Centre Day Care and is a lively, intelligent, kind, and cheeky little boy. My heart breaks for the family and the challenging road they have ahead. Nothing will ease their pain in watching Oskar in his fight against cancer, but I am calling on the warm, loving South Gippsland community to come together and support this family and help ease the financial burden of what a diagnosis like this means for them.

A donation, however small will make an enormous difference in ensuring that Oskar and his brother Arlo can remain Dale and Ella’s number one priority, so that they can all fight this cancer together, without the stress of worrying about money due to missed work, travel and accommodation costs, meals, babysitters etc.

South Gippsland is a small, but mighty community and I know that together, we can help to ease this load during what is a very tragic and hard time for the family.
