Help Les share his path to the untold history of Daniel Blue

Hi, my name is Les Robinson and I am fundraising so that I can publish a book that I've written entitled: Discovering Daniel Blue, my search for significance purpose and legacy.

This book tells the story of my life's journey, It's ups and downs; the challenges I faced as a young black man growing up in the turbulent 60's and 70's, and how I by chance decades later, discovered my great, great great grandfather Daniel Blue, a former slave from Kentucky who came to California in 1849, discovered gold, bought land, started a family, built and founded the first and oldest African American Church on the Pacific Coast and made many political and civil rights contributions including legally ending the hidden practice of slavery in California in 1864.

This endeavor is important to me because like many African Americans, Daniel Blue's name and record have been excluded from California and American history books even though there is much documented evidence to substantiate many of his historic and transformative contributions to our country.

I feel that when we tell the American story, we should tell the whole story and include all who were involved in the actual making of our history.

Daniel Blue, his family, and the American public have been robbed of many true history findings that I discovered in writing this book.

The rendering of this book is my personal effort to reveal hidden truths, and right some of the wrongs concerning California and American history.

All of the funds raised in this campaign will be used solely for the publishing of this book.
