Help Leslie with her Loss
"On April 1, 2021, My friend, Leslie Pomeroy, lost the love of her life, their boys lost their loving father, his father lost his son, and his siblings lost their brother. Jason (Fuego to some) was the strongest person I have ever met. He knew how to light up a room with his dad jokes. He'd give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. He taught her how important it is to be true to yourself, no matter what others would think. How to be a shield to those in need, even if it made you the villain to save someone in need. How to stand your ground for your beliefs while holding your boundaries. How to see the light through all the darkness. That using dark humor through tough times is best best therapy to have.
Mental illness is something you hear about, something people say should have more resources available, and something we should all learn more about. Her wonderful, creative, fantastic, loving husband succumbed to his mental illness. He was so loved, yet it was hard for him to see. Over time he thought that was all he was seen for and could be to people. Long ago, he told her those who commit suicide are called weak, cowards, selfish and so on, but they are the strongest, courageous, and selfless. Those who suffer from mental illness face their battles daily. Yet the rest tend to get upset for those wanting to stop their pain and suffering. They hide what they go through so no one has to feel their pain and agony. We, as a society, need to work at being accepting of those who deal with their mental illness. Please take the time to educate yourself, accept them, show them what they need (not what you need), and above all else make sure to show them they are loved so much.
With all that know Leslie and her work environment, mental illness is taught every year and we never expect that it will hit close to home. Please join me in offering financial assistance to help Leslie and her loved ones during this tragic time.
Thank You.
