Help Levi's Journey Through Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
hello my name is Shawn Brown im trying to raise money to help with my son Levi, As some of you are aware Levi was born with a rare genetic disease called Fanconi Anemia. People living with FA have a very high risk of developing bone marrow failure and cancer in addition to many other systemic issues. Since birth Levi has had many problems from low blood counts, chronic kidney disease, birth defects of his hands and wrists, hypothyroidism and the list continues for a long time.
With this being said in his short 4 years of life although a very happy wild little boy has had struggles from day one and has faced countless hurdles and things no child should have to go through. Over the past year we started to notice that Levi's blood levels were slowly going down and his bone marrow was steadily decreasing as time passed. In February Levi got the stomach bug and it has been downhill since. His left kidney has now stopped growing, his blood levels have completely dropped off weekly at this point and his bone marrow is now failing.
Levi will now be undergoing a bone marrow transplant within the next 6 months (sooner rather than later). Levi is now getting the effects of the bone marrow failing and the blood counts decreasing quickly. We are now at the point of doing daily injections, medications daily, and doctors appointments weekly at U of M. Our team there is amazing and like our second family and we love them dearly. Once Levi is ready for Transplant we will be at U of M for 6-8 weeks for Transplant and then another additional 2 to 3 months we will need to stay near the hospital (this is a time line of if everything goes smooth). We are also planning a benefit to help with us not working, travel, lodging, medications and to help out at home with our homes and other children. If you could please help with anything our family would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and please keep Levi in your prayers
