Help Liam Attend the 2023 UVAA Summer Festival

Hello Everyone!

My name is Liam Shannon and I am a baritone from New England!

For those of you who have been following and supporting my goal to establish myself as a successful professional singer, welcome back and thank you for all your support and encouragement! For those of you who don’t know me, let me tell you a little about myself, what I have accomplished and what I am planning.

On May 12, 2023, after two years of intensive study and practice honing my skills with world-class faculty and teachers, I earned my Masters of Music from USC's Thornton School of Music.

I am now pleased to announce I will be singing at the Utah Vocal Arts Academy (UVAA) Summer Opera Festival throughout July 2023 starring as Elviro in Händel’s Xerxes, serving as the understudy for Le Roi in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and participating in the Death by Aria vocal competition, judged by renowned Wagnerian soprano Deborah Voigt!

I have been very fortunate to receive first-class training at USC, and the UVAA Summer Opera Festival is a fantastic opportunity for me to begin establishing myself professionally. The UVAA Summer Opera Festival provides me a stage to showcase my vocal talents, and also to network with many established professionals in the world of music and vocal performance. However, as a recent graduate my financial resources are limited. Therefore, I am asking for your help raising the funds to help me get to Utah.

I am committed to my career as a singer, and am excited to share my progress and interests which range from classical repertoire such as Franz Schubert to modern composers such as Libby Larsen. Today, I am sharing my performance of Benjamin Britten’s “The Last Rose of Summer”! Please check back regularly to enjoy additional performances I will be posting regularly over the coming weeks.

The UVAA Summer Opera Festival awarded me a $700.00 scholarship and I have also contributed $1,000.00 towards my tuition. My goal is to raise $4,250.00, and I have included a budget below listing the payments and expenses related to attendance at the upcoming UVAA Summer Opera Festival. I know this is not a small amount by any means, and I am very appreciative of any support you can offer as I continue my vocal training and build my career as a professional singer.
