Liam Wilkins has grown up and spent most of his life in Savannah, Ga. He has worked for about 12 or 13 years in the medical field helping others whether it was on an Ambulance or in the ER or even in the Pediatrics ER.  Memorial Medical Center was his stomping grounds for years as he helped those in need. Right now he is the one in need as he is being treated in the same hospital he worked at for years.
Things are rough on him right now as he has fallen on hard times and ended up as a patient on the other side of the caring field. He has not been able to work because of how sick he has been and still has a couple months left of medical treatment where he won't be able to work during those times. Anything will help towards him landing back on his feet as well as contribute to any further medical treatment, including follow up visits with Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, and Infectious Disease, prescriptions, and overall help with moving forward in life.  Here is a post he put on his Facebook explaining what is going on with him right now which should tell you just how much he has been through.

"For those of you who don't know, I have been in the hospital for a little over two weeks and have been put through some tough times. It all started in November when I had cholecystitis. The day they were going to take out my gall bladder they found shingles on my chest flank and back. Those were incredibly painful and I sat in a hospital bed for 9 or 10 days I believe. Time has run together so please forgive any mistakes! As I was getting over Shingles I developed a very bad painful lump on my back that went away after 3 days. I thought nothing of it because it went away and figured it was just part of the shingles. Well, about a week later the pain came back and with a lot of force. I found it hard to sit down or stand up and sleeping was out of the question. So I went back to the NP and she ordered an MRI. Being it was Thanksgiving that week I couldn't get in to the MRI machine so I had one done on December 8th. It showed a section of inflammation/infection in the T8-T10 vertabrae area. From the advice of a couple of friends, whom are doctors(one a damn good radiologist) who read the MRI, I came to Memorial so that a neurosurgeon and interventional radiologist could read the MRI. I was set up for a Biopsy of the area where the neurosurgeon took out a spinous process, a piece of a vertabrae, also a chunk out of a bone that had been worn down from infection, and tissue for blood cultures. It was a nice clean incision and the surgery went well, but a few hours later I started with the chills and a very bad fever of 103. My heart rate went into the 160s and my blood pressure bottomed out around 88/52 which is VERY low for me. But what it told us was that I was septic. The next few days were a blur for me and I apparently was talking crazy out of the side of my neck. I have never felt that bad in my life. So on top of the pre surgery back pain I'm now dealing with post surgery pain and sepsis of the blood. Which is very painful in itself. I'm just happy I can write this post with how Incredibly sick I got and still am, fighting it all with a gang of antibiotics. Right now I'm getting IV Antibiotics every 8 hours and from what I've been told it's going to take another 6-8 weeks of me in the hospital to really beat the sepsis that is running through my blood. So with the osteomyelitis and sepsis(Methicillin Sensitive Staph Aureus) I am dangerously ill. I will be at Memorial for the next couple of weeks up to 2 months receiving around the clock antibiotics and treatment. Thank you to everyone who has been there so far and who reads this that may throw some good vibes my way. Love to everyone! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. I'll cheers from those incredibly comfortable hospital beds"!
