Imagine a place where over a thousand students gather every day, seeking education, spiritual growth, and a brighter future. This is the madrassa in Mansehra, KPK, Pakistan—a beacon for 1,076 students, both male and female, many of whom live on campus. Here, students from diverse backgrounds, including those from impoverished communities, pursue a range of studies, from memorizing the Quran and completing the Hifz course to advancing through the full Alimiyyah program. With 83 dedicated staff members, this madrassa has long served as a transformative institution, preparing young adults to uplift their communities and serve with purpose.

However, high electricity bills and constant power outages have placed a significant strain on the madrassa’s resources. Funds that could go toward enhancing learning facilities, improving conditions for students, and supporting teachers are instead consumed by mounting energy costs. The impact is felt daily, not only through disrupted study sessions but also in the limited ability to upgrade and expand crucial resources.

With the advice of local experts, we have identified a solution that could change everything: solar panels. By switching to solar energy, the madrassa can drastically cut down on utility expenses, paving the way for a sustainable, reliable energy source that will benefit the students for years to come. Solar power will ensure that resources are reallocated to where they are truly needed, improving the educational experience and providing better support for both students and staff.

Our goal is to raise PKR 5,800,000 [Approx £16,000], which will cover the cost of solar panels, installation labor, and maintenance fees. This investment will have a lasting impact, enabling the madrassa to allocate funds toward programs and improvements that directly benefit the students.
