Help Lilibeth (Let Let) fight cancer

They say that every time you think your life is hard, all you have to do is look around and you will see that other people have it worse.

People often say "stay strong, you can get through this".  But what happens when you are always thinking positive and always telling yourself that you are going to get stronger and better, but your body is telling you the opposite?  What will you do?

This is the journey of our beloved sister Lilibeth or Let Let Garrovillas Aboy.  She is currently residing in the Philippines and it has always been  her dream to move to Canada with her daughter so they can both have a better life.

If you ever meet Lilibeth (Let-Let) you know that she is one of the funniest, loving, caring, thoughtful, generous, bravest and most of all strongest people you will ever have the privilege of knowing.  She is enthusiastic and always so positive.  It is always fun when she is around.

In December of 2004,  after just loosing her oldest brother and her mother a few months before,  Lilibeth was diagnosed of having cancer on her left breast in which surgery was done followed by chemotherapy in January of 2005.  She was again diagnosed with breast cancer on her right breast in 2008.  Surgery was done and once again followed by chemotherapy.  She also went through taking Herceptine for maintenance once a week for 1 year and then followed by Radiotherapy.  While going through radiotherapy in 2009, her late husband was diagnosed with lung cancer.  During this time, they were both too sick to take care of each other .  Shortly after, Lilibeth and their only daughter, who was only 7 years old at the time, had to deal with the loss of a husband and a father.  In spite of all these challenges, with the help of family and friends, Lilibeth managed to stay positive and focus on getting healthier and raising her only daughter.

Just when she thought that her health was on track, in 2016, Lilibeth was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in which surgery was done followed by Radioactive pills.  Thankfully, there was no follow up treatment or medication afterwards.

Unfortunately, the list goes on...

In 2017, her right chest was diagnosed with Sarcoma in which surgery and radiotherapy was done.

But in June of 2020, Lilibeth was once again diagnosed with 2nd Sarcoma cancer on her right chest in which surgery and radiotherapy were the treatment.  February 2021, Lilibeth was once again diagnosed for the 3rd time of Sarcoma on her right chest.  Unfortunately, now having stage 4 Sarcoma, she is now inoperable.  The radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the only options she has left.

In December of 2020, lumps began to grow outside Lilibeth's right chest.  In February 2021, just a few months later, these 3 lumps grew to the size of an ice cream scoop each lump.  Her liver now developed lumps and both her lungs have liquid inside. Not only is she in a lot of pain, she also constantly has to wrap her lumps with sanitary napkins and change them very often as they discharge a lot of fluids

She was scheduled to start her first round of chemotherapy on March 10th, but her hemoglobin blood count was low, resulting to re-schedule.  She will now need at least 2 bags of blood for the transfusion before staring the chemo.

Being a single mom, Lilibeth is the sole provider for her family.  She has many plans and dreams for her daughter who is in grade 12.   Lilibeth has been battling cancer for 17 years and  I cannot even begin to think of the pain, fear, anxiety and stress she, her daughter and the rest of our family are going through.  She is a fighter, an amazing inspiration to us all.  Unfortunately, Lilibeth hasn't been able to work for over 6 months.

I know that Lilibeth is surrounded by so much love. I also know that this is another way for other people who care so much about her to help.  This is the help she will never ask for but I know it's a help so many people are willing to give.

Please, send all your love to our beautiful Lilibeth and her daughter as they continue to go through this battle together.

On behalf of Lilibeth and our family, we are asking you to please help her with her daily and medical expenses.  Whether it's $1, or $100, we will forever be grateful for your generosity.

Thank you all so much for taking time getting to know Lilibeth and her story.  God bless you and your family always.
