Help Lillian Overcome Eviction Threat

Hi, my name is Cerise (or Lillian). I'm a 26 year old disabled transgender person living in Texas. I am a cancer research professional and have been in my profession for over 5 years now. Unfortunately, I am facing eviction due to a severe injury that has left me unable to work at my full capacity.

See this photo here on the cover? This was the last photo taken of me before I received a debilitating musculoskeletal injury to my already arthritic left foot. Since mid January, I have been under the care of my podiatrist Dr. Jamila Butcher in an attempt to treat and manage my injury. The pain has left me unable to walk for more than twenty minutes at a time. I have to spend my time either walking with a cane, or with a rigid, clunky boot on my foot.

I have been on intermittent, unpaid FMLA at my research job in the Medical Center of Houston, TX. Due to this loss of wages, combined with the thousands of dollars of my own money that I have had to spend on doctor's copays, medications, laser therapy, injections, physical therapy, mobility devices, fully custom orthotics, and more, I have gotten behind on my rent. I have NEVER been late on my rent in my entire adult life. I have also applied to several local assistance organizations for financial help with my late rent, which I will be able to receive later in July and August.

Despite this, my landlord has moved to evict me. My court date is July 9th. If I do not have the amount I need before then, I will be evicted. Here is proof:

I have three lovely cats - my Toyger, my Oriental Shorthair, and my Maine Coon. We are approaching summer in Houston, and I cannot have them (or myself, as a multiply disabled person) being homeless and living out of my car. I need $3000 to cover my rent by July 9th, my court date, or I will face eviction and homelessness.

It would be a great kindness if you were able to donate, and if not, please spread my GFM for visibility. This is an urgent situation and I promise to use everything I receive in order to prevent eviction and prevent something like this from ever occurring again.
