Help Lincoln Get Life-Saving Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Lincoln is 24. He works as a successful hospital engineering technician and loves spending time with family, adoring his three nieces and four siblings, despite of the rigors of two previous open-heart surgeries. Lincoln also enjoys hiking, running, and lifting weights--all of which are impossible in his current medical condition without the upcoming scheduled surgery.
In the next month, Lincoln is scheduled for open heart surgery to correct severe aortic valve disease. This third open heart surgery, called the Ross procedure, requires considerable technical expertise, a specialty of his New York City-based surgeon. It is a complex surgery that involves a double valve replacement of the aortic and pulmonary valves. The surgery has a high rate of success for young adults so they can return to a high quality of life and activity.
The anticipated expense has been a terrible source of stress for our family as we face high city prices for lodging, meals, and transportation surrounding the surgery. From pre-op tests to being cleared to fly home, Lincoln is expecting a three week trip and I (his mom, Mitzi) will be there with him for the duration. Costs we are asking help with include: transportation to and in the city, accommodation close to the hospital (running around $350/night with taxes and fees), food, basic supplies, and incidentals.
Thank you so much for helping Lincoln. We greatly appreciate it!
