Help Linda Zeng After Complete Loss From Eaton Fire
My name is Linda Zeng. I lost everything in the Altadena Pasadena Eaton Fires on 1/8/2025. My apartment burned down, lost all physical possessions, and while running from the fire with my dog and cat, I lost my beloved cat, Nico, of 12 years.
I am still looking for him online and in shelters.
Altadena has been my home for the past four years. Moving from NY to my dream city of Los Angeles in 2019 was challenging. But it was in Altadena that I found my people... a large, welcoming, diverse community of dog parents that have become my friends.
As a neurodivergent introvert with a rare, painful disfiguring disability (vasculitis), it has been hard to reach out and meet people. But in Altadena, I found a community of animal lovers from all walks of life that have finally made a place a home.
Having worked as a Management Consultant at Accenture in LA, and I have worked on many crisis management projects for state governments during COVID-19. Now, here I am needing help myself after the Eaton wildfires.
In 2022, I lost my job due to frequent flare-ups of vasculitis, severe GI issues, and major depressive disorder. I have been struggling since then, but now I really need help.
My beloved town is now gone, and I am still in shock. I am hoping you can help me rebuild a life here in Los Angeles.
I am a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School '03, UC Berkeley '08 and Pace University (MS 2018), as well as a licensed cosmetologist graduate of Aveda Institute NY.
I am hoping to for help towards:
apartment rental deposit+ first month's rent, vehicle, dog (hopefully cat) supplies, food, chews beddings, flea meds.
.
I was also in the process of filling out inventory for an online handmade jewelry website, selling my own handmade items. All my inventory, the crystal beads, gold-filled and silver findings, packaging, printer, and laptop are all gone. I am hoping also to repurchase supplies so I can reopen my website.
Fire is the great equalizer.
But I think fire is also a conduit for change and rebirth. I am so grateful to have made it out and I am glad thankful for everyone who has helped so far ❤️
Thank you so much in advance for reading my bio and for your help.
Simon, my Chihuahua mix, says thank you too.
I am reminded that dogs are so resilient. Simon's left eyebrow got singed a bit from falling ember as we were running. On the ambulance ride to the evacuation center he was shivering. But now he's playing again, scratching his back on a small ball on a cozy motel bed.
I'm so grateful. Thank you so much again.
