Help Linda Cole Recover from Palisades Fire
Donation protected
On January 9, 2024 we got word that my beloved Mom Linda Cole lost our beloved home in Big Rock Canyon as a result of the Palisades Fire. My mom would quite literally never ask for help, but we currently don't know what the future has in store.
She and my Dad bought that home in 1979, the year they were married. That home has survived landslides and other fire scares but was a wonderful place to grow up. My mom is now on a minimal fixed income and we fear her finances will be tied up as we deal with the insurance for the months to come. Even a little bit will help defray her day to day living expenses and give us a cushion to say "What's next?"
One thing to add: we spent a great deal of my family's nest egg during my Dad's protracted battle with cancer to cover costs not covered by insurance. We lost my Dad in 2016, leaving my mom with the house responsibilities to herself.
Our hearts are broken for our immediate community and the Palisades writ large. My mom has lived most of her life in the Westside of LA in the Palisades and Malibu and seeing the devastation to the businesses that sustained us has been gut-wrenching.
Thanks in advance for any assistance as we rebuild my mom's life. Funds will be used to help replace lost property, and help with immediate living expenses (food and clothing) in the weeks to come.
With gratitude,
