Help Linda Cripe with post-stroke necessities

Donation protected

February 10th, 2021 was a day that changed my family forever.  I received a call from my Dad (Lynn) that my Mom (Linda) was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.  She got nauseous, collapsed and fortunately my dad was there to call 911.  There was no warning signs or medical issues that we could predict this as a possibility.  She suffered a massive stroke and brain bleed on the right side of her frontal lobe.  Pretty quickly after being in the hospital they needed to do a craniotomy to relieve the pressure on her brain.  When the surgeon was in there to stop the bleeding, he discovered an area of tumors and had to make an immediate decision to remove them.  This was a highly risky surgery with only 50% chance of survival.  The first 72 hours were extremely difficult for my dad and family as we built a prayer army to help my mom fight through.  THANK YOU to all that have been praying for us during this most difficult time for my family.

I am pleased to say Mom has been recovering ever since, starting with opening her eyes, moving her tongue, making eye contact, smiling, and now writing her name, talking a bit, eating (puréed foods) and swinging a badminton racket (right handed).  Her tumors then came back benign!!  Her left side have been minimally responsive and unsure if she will be able to walk again or use her left arm.  She remains in hospital rehabilitation at least until March 19th.  Although she is improving, my dad informed me that there are going to be significant changes needed for Mom to come home.  She needs a chair lift for their house, which insurance will not cover, apparently this is a common issue with insurance and home accessibility.  This expense will likely be $4,000-5,000 alone.  Her surgery and hospital care have immediately hit the maximum out of pocket for Dad which is a large amount of money for him to bear.  In order to help Lynn cover all of these expenses and to get Linda home with all the equipment and additional care she will need, I’m calling out for your help.  My dad doesn’t know I’m setting this up and I really want to surprise him with some funding to cover Mom’s extensive needs.  My mom is the first person to volunteer, and help out in any way she can and I’m asking PLEASE for you to return the favor to her.

With COVID-19 protocol I have been unable to see her in person up to this point.  I cannot wait to see Mom and give her a giant hug.  THANK YOU from my entire family for all the love and support.  I know Mom will be home and smiling again soon.
