Help Linda move into her purpose built bungalow

Hi,

I’ve been a carer in Dungannon (Northern Ireland) for over 25 years and during this time I have met an enormous amount of people with all different types of needs. This one particular client that I have has been wheelchair bound for over 5 years, as a result of having a degenerative disease named as Still’s disease.

Still’s disease is a rare type of inflammatory arthritis that features fevers, rash and joint pain. Even though for some people only have an episode of adult’s Still’s disease, unfortunately for Linda, her condition persists and worsen with time. As a result of her condition, Linda has most of her joints in her body replaced with metal/titanium  and is in pain all of the time.

Linda Farrell lives in Dungannon and she is well known and liked by many a lot. Last year Linda was offered a purpose built bungalow that is suited for her needs and her wheelchair. She had to battled the last few months to get the house made suitable for her, things that we take for granted, ie. motorised doors, so she can enter the house. Linda’s condition affected even simple daily living tasks such as even turn a handle to open doors. to request the kitchen lowered so that she can see what’s she’s cooking (and she loves to cook!). A lot of adaptions were overcame eventually, so the move is on. Though there are still a lot of things that Linda cannot do, a lot that we take for granted, so I am asking the community to help Linda to make this move.

Linda needs help with the whole house flooring and painting as it is a new build. Because of the wheelchair Linda needs good flooring and this will be expensive
