Help Linden Regain His Vision & The Freedom To Drive
Donation protected
On August 31st, our gorgeous son Linden's life changed forever. While riding his motorbike with his Dad and a group of friends, he was involved in a horrific accident that left him fighting for his life. He has so far spent 13 agonising weeks in the hospital, enduring 7 surgeries – including 4 brain surgeries – and unimaginable pain. The accident resulted in a traumatic brain injury that robbed him of a large portion of his visual field which the optometrists here in Perth say is likely permanent.
At just 16 and full of life, Linden was thriving in his roof carpentry apprenticeship, building a bright future and saving for his first car. But now, his visual field loss has shattered that dream – he's been told he can never return to the work he loved, as working at heights will be unsafe. And the independence of driving? That's been stolen too as his remaining visual field is too small for WA driver licensing regulations. But Linden is a warrior. Despite the overwhelming challenges, he's adapting to his new reality with incredible positivity, strength and resilience.
There is hope. The renowned Federov Restore Vision Clinic in Berlin, Germany, specialises in treating vision loss like Linden's. Their cutting-edge electrical stimulation therapy has successfully restored vision in patients with similar conditions. Linden's doctors are optimistic that with this treatment, he can regain some of his visual field (particularly in his right eye), vastly improving his quality of life.
This life-changing treatment is expensive. Linden needs to travel to the clinic TWICE, six months apart, for two weeks of intensive therapy. The total cost? $56,000.
We can't do this alone. That's where YOU come in. Every donation, big or small, brings Linden one step closer to seeing the whole picture clearly again and doing all the things he loves.
Your contribution will cover:
- The revolutionary electrical stimulation therapy at the Federov Clinic
- Round-trip flights from Australia to Berlin, twice
- Accommodation in Berlin for two weeks, twice
Linden is a fighter. He's already adapting to his new reality with incredible positivity and strength. But he can't regain his vision without our help. Let's rally around him and give him the gift of sight - the gift of a brighter, fuller future.
Donate now and help Linden see the world again! Every dollar counts, every share matters. Together, we can try to restore Linden's vision and transform his life.
