Help Lindsay Overcome Her Health Challenges

Donation protected
My niece, Lindsay Clark, has endured numerous high risk surgeries in the past couple of years. In November 2022, she had a major cardiothoracic surgery, a Pectus Excavatum, at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix to reconstruct her chest to keep her ribs & sternum from crushing her heart and lungs. In June 2023, due to ongoing complications, she underwent an ORIF (open reduction internal fixation) of multiple fractured ribs and the surgeon had to remove one of the bars from her chest since it displaced and was actually starting to push into the pericardium of her heart.

Since this surgery, she continued to experience bruising/internal bleeding along her lateral chest all associated with severe pain. Imaging showed the other bar had displaced and was again causing further damage. While this was ongoing, she underwent hip surgery to repair the joint. She was also hospitalized on multiple occasions due to her new diagnosis of gastroparesis. She found out that 95% of her stomach motility isn't functioning thus food is not able to be consumed and digested. She ended up having to get a feeding tube. Her inability to eat and timing to get that diagnosis pushed her cardiothoracic surgery back so that her GI doctor could get her optimized to be strong enough for another high-risk surgery.

She has now been optimized enough to proceed with another high-risk cardiothoracic surgery on July 25th, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Her surgeon is doing a Pectus Hardware Adjustment where she is going to flip the bar for it to get off her ribs and the hardware that is placed on the ribs will be adjusted.

The costs are adding up having to keep going back and forth to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona each time she has complications as this is the place where one of the two surgeons in the US is trained to perform this type of surgery.

Lindsay and my sister have to pay for a place to stay for the 3 weeks they will be there barring no further complications. Other expenses will include food, gas, medication costs, hospital bills, etc.

Any monetary donation would be greatly appreciated. This is such a financial burden on them and I know that any assistance helps. Please also keep Lindsay in your prayers.
