Help The Lindsey Family Honor Portia Hope's Memory

Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Lauren, and I am Tyler and Liz Lindsey's sister-in-law. We are raising funds to support our beloved Lindsey family as they have suffered the unexpected loss of their precious baby girl, Portia Hope.

Your generous support will help the Lindsey family in various ways:
• Funeral and burial expenses for Portia Hope
• Medical expenses for time spent in the hospital and treatment including – labor and delivery, ICU, scans, oxygen, various tests, and so much more
• Ongoing treatment, testing, and screenings as Liz will have to undergo more blood draws and follow-ups to ensure she is healthy, cancer-free, and safe from other harmful bodily toxins.

We ask that you prayerfully consider joining us as we walk alongside our family in this trying season. Any amount you feel led to give is helpful, and we know the Lord will continue to provide. Thank you so much for being with our sweet Lindsey family on this journey!

Please read below for Liz’s story:

“Portia Hope, oh how we love and miss you our sweet baby girl

A week ago today, April 20th our baby girl was born early at 22 weeks old. This has been the hardest few weeks of our lives as our pregnancy excitement turned to sorrow in facing the news that we would be losing our sweet daughter and baby sibling. We found out Christmas week that we were expecting baby #4 and our hearts were filled with anticipation to welcome a new baby to our family. We planned to share our pregnancy/gender announcement after our 20 week ultrasound but instead we found our world flipping upside down onto a journey we never imagined we would have to travel as parents and as a family. We found out that a rare chromosome defect was attacking both her body and mine. I quickly became very sick as several organs in my body were becoming very affected and thankfully God prompted us to go to the hospital before it was too late. We had a beautiful birth and few moments snuggling with our sweet Portia before she passed into the arms of Jesus . She was so beautiful and absolutely perfect. When the nurses put her on my chest, she wrapped her tiny fingers around mine and I will forever treasure that moment in my heart. The girls got to see her soon after and sweetly sang worship songs over her and shared their favorite Bible verses… the beauty of their faith in that moment will forever inspire our hearts. Later that evening I suddenly couldn’t breathe and was rushed to the ICU for scans, tests and treatments for two days as my body had a crazy reaction to the trauma.

This has been the wildest ride and honestly, we are still in shock and reeling from everything that has happened in the last three weeks. I have so many questions for God and our hearts are broken as we enter this lifelong road of grief. No mother should have to leave the birth of her baby and go home with empty arms. Today we look for a place to bury our daughter which feels so wrong as parents.

Yet we keep hearing whispers and reminders that Jesus is near to the broken hearted. There were so many moments we felt His presence as He surrounded us with guardian angels at the hospital who looked out for us and sweetly honored our Portia, our family and friends who rushed in with fast and furious love and fervent prayers. Fellow travelers on the road of loss have held and wept with us in our fresh sadness and given us so much comfort. It has been so humbling to be surrounded by so much love from our family, Outward church family, REFIT sisters and dear friends. We feel the nearness of Jesus through all of you and it gives us peace and HOPE.

When we were leaving the hospital, my OB who is also a dear sister in Christ, held us in our sorrow and prayed over us and our beautiful baby girl. She shared with us that Jesus showed her a picture of Portia dancing through wildflowers in Heaven
Oh sweet baby girl, my heart aches and I sure miss dancing with you jumping and kicking in my tummy… Now you will dance in our hearts forever as our beautiful OFFERING OF HOPE. ”
